HOCKEY VISITORS
STRENUOUS TOUR ENDS AUSTRALIANS RETURN TO-DAY After completing a successful tour of the Dominion, the touring Australian hockey team will leave for Sydney by the Marama this evening. The, final match of the tour will be played j against Rodney at Warkworth this' morning. The tour, which has taken five weeks, * has been very strenuous, entailing the playing of 18 matches, of which 11 have been won, five lost and one drawn. Three of the matches which were lost, including the test match, were played on muddy grounds, under weather conditions which did not favour scientific hockey. A farewell dance was tendered the team by the Combined Auckland Hockey Associations in the Peter Pan -if Cabaret last night.
