PAKURANGA HUNT

MEET AT OPAHEKE The Pakurahga. Hunt met at Opaheke yesterday, under good conditions, although the going was slightly wet in places. Scent was lying well. Hound 3 threw off on the property of Mr. J. Walker, and worked to the back of Mr. V. Hatrick's land, where a hare was chopped. The hunt then moved over Mr. G. Whitford's property, and hounds worked through Messrs. Hosking and Hollinger's nursery without success, finally crossing through Mr. F. Parker's land to Commander D. A. Bingley's property, where two hares were raised at tho same time. One of them took the hunt for a very fast run across the farms of Messrs. J. Fitzpatrick, J. Appleby and Cossey to the bush, and after being worked out by hounds was killed in a clump of tea-tree. Another .was put up almost immediately and went for a emart run over tho land of Messrs. Appleby and Fitzpatrick, and Commander Bingley, doubling back to the bush, where it was killed. Another mn was made over the same country, but the hare escaped. >A long cross-country run was mado to the homestead of Mr. J. Walker, sen., where afternoon tea. was served.
