EUROPE TO-DAY
RIGHT HAND ON SWORD LLOYD GEORGE'S PLEA LONDON, August 10 "To-day the right hand is on the sword and patriotism has lost its reason throughout the world," declared Mr. Lloyd George, in his presidential address at the Welsh National Eisteddfod.
The late President von Hindenburg had predicted that Europe would again become a greater furnace than ever, and he had pleaded with his countrymen to keep Germany from the flames. "Let us keep Britain and mankind from the flames," added Mr. George, "since love of country is becoming demented and developing into homicidal mania."
ITALIAN SOLDIERS RECALL FROM FRONTIER ROME. August 1G The Prime Minister of Italy, Signor Mussolini, has ordered the immediate withdrawal of the troops which were despatched to the Austrian frontier after the recent l-ovolt in Vienna.
