SHIPMENTS OF ORANGES
SOUTH AUSTRALIAN FRUIT KEEN DEMAND AT MARKETS A shipment of South Australian oranges, the first at Auckland this season, arrived by the Wanganella yesterday. The shipment comprised almost 3000 cases and included a small quantity of mandarins. The fruit arrived in excellent condition. Inquiry for the fruit was keen at the city markets yesterday. Moderate stocks of Island oranges are still available in Auckland, but there will be a shortage of the Australian variety until a further shipment is brought by the Wanganella next month. A quantity of Rarotongan oranges will reach Wellington on Monday, a portion of which will be available in Auckland, and another Cook Islands shipment is expected early next month.

The fruit consisted of navel oranges, which were in first-class order. Pitcairn oranges, which arrived by the Akaroa, realised from 16s to 23s a cas«.
