of relief workers employed by the council was not being reduced, but on the contrary was tending to increase, he would like the council to define a * policy as to the employment of further men, as in his opinion the number engaged at the present time was very much in excess of that which should normally be employed. The matter was t left in the hands of the chairman, Mr. / W. A. Bishop, and the engineer. The engineer also reported that work was proceeding with the formation of a parking area at Kare Kare, by the diversion of the stream and the installation of a culvert. On completion of the wqrk, approximately an acre /• would be available fir parking and / camping sites, near the beach.
