BODY EMBALMED

A CHINESE MERCHANT So that he may rest with his ancestors .in his native country, the body of Mr. Young Sing Kow, head of the firm of Chew Lee Young, Chinese merchants, of Christchurch, who died from pneumonia a few days ago, is being embalmed by Dr. A. B. Pearsou at the Christchurch Public Hospital, and will be sent to China. While it is the desire of all Chinese, irrespective of religion, that their spirits may join those of their ancestors, it is a costly matter to send a body from New Zealand to China; and it is said that this is the first time, at least for very many years, that it has happened. The process of embalming will take about a week.
