TAUPO-TOTARA TIMBER SUGGESTED CAPITAL REDUCTION An intimation that the directors are considering a proposul to write down capital was given to shareholders of Taupo-Totara Company, Limited, at the annual meeting in Wellington this week. The chairman of the meeting, Mr. R. A. Wilson, said the company had surplus funds invested and the directors were considering a scheme of writing off part of the ordinary share capital. The share capital written off, if the scheme was proceeded with, would enable some of the surplus funds to be used in paying off part, at least, .of the accrued dividends on the preference shares, and thus bring the prospect of a dividend on the ordinary shares much nearer The chairman intimated that shareholders would be advised of developments in the matter. Details of the company's accounts were published in the Herald on July 2-i.
