VERSATILE SPORTSMAN The winner ot the men's downhill race at the recent "Grand National" ski championship meeting at Mount Cook, Mr. H. H. Elwortliy, is a versatile sportsman. He arrived at tho Hermitage from Timaru after riding his horse to victory in a hunt club' meeting, and after a brief stay, during which time he scored a convincing win in tho only race in which he participated, ho left for Christchurch, and was again successful in a hunt club raco at Riccarton. This varied training should result in his being very fit for the New Zealand amateur ski championships at Ruapehu at the end of the month, when he will defend hia title of Now Zealand ski-running champion.
