PONSONBY CLUB'S SEASON A year of steady progress wag recorded in the report of the Porsonby Model Yacht Club presented at the second annual meeting last ev.cninc. The commodore, Mr. W. A. Wilkinson, presided over a good attendance. The report stated that both from a racinc and a financial standpoint the past season had been a very successful one. Fourteen days were devoted 1o racing, no fewer than 4G events being held. The entries for the eeason totalled 376 boats. The club again maintained its supremacy over tjio other model clubs in the inter-club contests and its boats also secured prizes at the recent Winter Exhibition. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £s' 7s, The election of officers resulted as follows: Patron, Mr. JR. H. Nortbcroft; vicepatrrfn, Mr. J. B. Johnston; president, Mr. G. Tyler; vice-presidents, same a* last yeav with the addition of Messrs. F. Home and T. L. Thompson; commodore, Mr. E. Ewan; vice-commodore, Mr. G. Brown; Tear-ccm-modore. Mr. H. Crockett; auditor, Mr. H. IT. Arthur; measurers, Messrs. W. A. Wilkinson, R. Murphy; general committee, Messrs. C. ,T. Collings, W. A. Wilkinson, W. Hilson, H. A. Lowe, A. Bell, R. Cunningham, W. A. Willetts. L. Pohlen, W. Everett; judge, Mr. J. Conway; starters, Messrs. G. Brown. E. Ewan; timekeepers, Messrs. Brown, Wilkinson; handicappens, Messrs. Brown, Wilkinson, Ewan; junior racing committee. Messrs. R. Gisby, W. T. Matthews. E. Ewari, G. Brown. The appointment of secretary and treasurer was left over until the next meeting. It was decided to open the season on September 2 with races for 3ft. and 4ft. restricted classes and allcomers.
