NEW IYA TRANSMITTER INDEPENDENT SUPPLY LINE The supply of electricity for the new IYA radio transmitter near Henderson was discussed at yesterday's meeting of the Waitemata Electric-Power Board. Proposals for supply and charges, submitted by the manager, Mr. A. Main, to the New Zealand Broadcasting Board were approved. Mr. Main reported that Mr. E. C. Hands, manager of the Broadcasting Board, had called on him recently in connection with the matter. The load for the transmitter would be' not less than 60 kw., and ais it would be constant for 15 hours a day it should provide a very steady and profitable load on the system. It was pointed out that the supply would be given independently from the Lincoln Eoad sub-station and would not be affected by shut-downs, which sometimes occur, usually on Sunday afternoons.
