ACTIVITIES OF ORDERS INSTALLATION CEREMONIES SOCIAL FUNCTIONS HELD The Epsom Lodge, No. BS, 1.0.0. F., met last week in the Royal Oak Hall, tho noble grand, Bro. N. Whit-more, presiding over a good attendance of members. An official visit was received from Bro. J. Arnott, D.D.G.M., who gave a short address ou the work of tho order. Bro. Attwood, district secretary, also received a warm welcome. At tho close of tho business games of bowls were played. Tho usual fortnightly meeting of tho Loyal Dominion Lodge, M.U.1.0.0.F., was held in tho Carmen Avenue lodge room last week. There was a good attendance, the N.G., Sister E. Taylor, presiding. Ono new member was initiated. A number of excellent vocal items were given by P.G. Sister Perkins, Sister Pago, Sister May and Bro. Jellard. A clever character sketch was given by Bro. Orr. Cards and dr-.ncing brought a pleasant evening to a close. The Light of Manukau Lodge, U.A.0.D., had a good meeting last Wednesday evening, when an early start was made with the business session. The Arch Druid, Bro. Tolladay, presided. A report of the Druids' Hospital Board meeting was received from Bro. F. Thursby, P.D.P. The report was adopted, and Bro. Thursby was thanked. An official visit was then received from the officers and members of Court Pride of Onehunga, A.O.F. A bowling tournament was played and was won by the Foresters by a fair margin of points. The sisters of Loyal Morrinsville Lodge, M.U.1.0.Q.F., provided a very good entertainment for tho benefit of the male members at the last meeting, which took the form of a social evening. Dancing was interspersed with several humorous items. A sketch, "The Lady Specialist," was acted by Sisters lnnes, Davis, W. Meek, R. Johnstone and C. Johnstone. In another act Sisters A. Hill, M. Arndt and M. Chapman were cleverly disguised as "Three Blind Mice," and Sister Davis acted the part of the farmer's wife. A dumb farce entitled "A Warning to Sisters Contemplating Marriage" was presented by Sisters Arndt and Meek. The Youthful Enterprise Juvenile Temple, 1.0. G.T., has had increased attendances at the last two weekly meetings. At the first of these, four new members were initiated by the sitting officers under the leadership of the C.T., Sister G. Pace. A number of visitors were welcomed. After a short session, the officers of the adult lodge took charge and a very enjoyable programme was provided by the young people. The adult lodge afterwards entertained the juveniles to supper. The last meeting also saw another new member initiated. It was learned with regret that Sister M. Henricksen, the assistant superintendent of the Temple, was leaving to reside in Cambridge, and best wishes were expressed for hexfuture happiness.

An important event for the members of the Star of Piako Lodge, U.A.O.D. (Morrinsville), was the installation this month of the new district president, Bro. J. W. Simpson, of Morrinsville. This district embraces all the Druids' Lodges throughout eastern Waikato and the Bay of Plenty. The installing officer was P.D.P. Bro. Corbett, of Rotorua. Among the large attendance were parties from Rotorua, To Aroha and Matamata. At the close of the ceremony a social evening was held, dancing being interspersed with items by the Morrinsville members.

One of the most successful functions yet held by the Haeata Rebckah was the recent public installation of officers. Sisters Boag, P.G., and Humphrey, P.G., acted as marshals and introduced the official vistors. Bro. Johnston, grand warden, then entered escorting Bro. A. J. Guy, grand master for NewZealand. Sister Boles, L.D.D.G.M., and her suite were admitted, and the following officers were then installed with due ceremony:—J.P.G., Sister D. Holro3*d; N.G., Sister J. Baker; V.G., Sister Cramond; warden, Sister M. Holroyd; conductor, Sister Darrow; chaplain, Sister F. Cantell; musician, Sister Culpitt, P.G.; R.S.N.G., Sister Gunn, P.G.; L.S.N.G., Sister Carr, P.G.; R.S.V.G., Sister E. Bellchamber; L.S.V.G., Sister A. Robinson; R.A.S.. Sister Baron;, L.A.S., Sister White; record secretary, Sister Nunn, P.G.; 'financial secretary, Sister Sommerville; treasurer, Sister Culpitt, P.G.; E.G., Sister P. Carr; 0.G., Sister Bellchamber; preceptor, Sister W. Boag, P.G. The newly-installed officers then returned thanks and short addresses of congratulation and greeting were given by Bro. Guy, G.M., Sister Moles, L.D.D.G.M., Sister Newbold, P.L.D.D.G.M., and Sister Tailby, P.L.D.D.G.M. Sister Morrison spoke on behalf of the visitors. The N.G. then asked the grand master, Bro. Guy, to present to Sister G. Carr a P.N.G. collar and certificate. 'lhe lodge then closed and supper was served, dancing afterwards being indulged in until a late hour. Bro. C. Johnson acted as M.C.

The Star of Newmarket Lodge:, U.A.0.D., met in the Council Chambers lodge room last Wednesday evening, the A.D., Bro. Munroe, presiding over a good attendance of members and visitors. Among the visitors was a very old member :>f Devon port Lodge, Bro. Simpson, P.D.I', who told the lodge a number ol: stories of the old days of Druidism in this city and throughout New Zealand. A report of the recent conference between representatives of the lodges and the doctors was given by P.IJ.P. Bro. Hampton, who received the thanks of the brethren for his work. At the close of the lodge items were given by Bros. Smart, Better, Page, Hampton, "Lowry, Emerson, Ncwall, Mackay and T. Wilson.

The Foresters' Theatre, Onehunga, was well filled with members of the Reehabitc Order hist week, when the Pascoe Cup bowling tournament opened. Bro. A. -Jenkin, president of the 1.0. R. Bowling Association, welcomed the members and declared the season opened. Ten teams from the various tents were engaged and some good games resulted. Supper was provided by the Gordon Tent, Onehunga, and during the interval Bro. Francis, D.C.R., made a r umber of presentations. The Ritual Cup was presented to the C.R. of the Mount Albert Tent. The Membership Cup for tents of over 100 members was won by Gordon Tent for 1933, and the Membership Cup for tents of under 1(10 members by the Carr Memorial Tent. Gordon Tent is also the holders of the Pascoe Cup for bowling for 1933, and the Mulholland Rooster, a trophy played for between the tent and Epsom Lodge, 1.0.0. F. Bro. Francis also presented Bro. Pace, of Gordon Tent, with his P.C.R. collar.

The eighth lesson in practical psychology, entitled "Developing Personality," will be given by Dr. P. Fennelly in the Town Hall concert chamber to-night. New season's coats at reduced prices during Coat Week at George Court's of Karangahape Road.
