AGONIES FROM RADIO
EXASPERATED FRENCHMAN DOORKEEPER SHOT DEAD A timiid-looking little man who suffered agonies from a loud wireless set belonging to his next-door neighbour appeared, in a Paris Court a few weeks ago. He could neither work nor sleep, and by eleven o'clock the previous night he was driven wild by it. He rushed downstairs and told the concierge to get the wireless stopped at once, and when in reply the concierge objected to his sudden intrusion the exasperated tenant pulled out a revolver and shot the -concierge dead on the spot. Had the accused shot the owner of the wireless set and not the innocent doorkeeper he would almost certainty have been acquitted by a Trench jury, says a correspondent. His chances ot acquittal will now be less though he will, no doubt, be allowed "extenuating circumstances" —provided, of course, that the members of the jury are not keen listeners themselves.
