PENWOMEN'S CLUB

A lantern lecture on Canterbury and Westminster Cathedrals was given by Canon I r . H. Hobday at the Pen-, women's Club yesterday afternoon. Incidents concerning the building and history of Westminster Abbey added to the interest of the talk. The Abbey, said the speaker, was I'ryt erected over the only ford by which the Romans crossed "the Thames on tho way to the Watling Road. Edward the Confessor, canonised as a saint in 1173, has a sanctuary of exquisite workmanship built ovei his tomb. Mrs. Carr RoUett presided. Mrs. Letcher played "riic Cathedral Under the Sea."
