DAIRY PRODUCTION
THE HIKURANGI COMPANY ADVANCE PAYMENT FOR APRIL [by telegraph —OWN correspondent] WHANGAEEI, Friday An advance payment at the rate of 8d per lb. for superfine and 7jd per lb. for first grade quality butterfat supplied during April will be made to its suppliers next week by the Hikurangi Dairy Company, .the total distribution being £6321. For the corresponding month last year the advances were at the same rate, the amount distributed being £9003. The large decrease this season is due to the decline in production, caused chiefly by the long spell of dry weather in the autumn. Everything points to the production of butter during the winter months being considerably less than during last winter. The output of butter by the Hikurangi Company for the year ended May 31 will be approximately on a par with the production of last year, the large increase in production for the spring and summer months having been counteracted by the decrease during the late summer and autumn months. THE KAIPARA FACTORY PAYMENTS TO SUPPLIERS [from our own correspondent] HELENSVILLE, Friday Tli* Kaipara Co-operative Dairy Factory Company, Limited, is paying out 7d per lb. for finest quality butter-fat for April; and is also making a further payment of 3d per lb. on the November supply, bringing that up to 73d per lb.
