GOLDEN WEDDING

MR. AND MRS. C. STUART Colonists of 70 years standing, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stuart, of Arthur Street, Ponsonby, will celebrate their golden wedding to-day.' Mr. Stuart landed at Auckland as a boy of 15 in 1864 and played his part as a soldier in the Maori War. Mrs. Stuart is the eldest daughter of the late Mr. George Pulrnan, photographer, of Shorthand Street, and she was married to Mr. Stuart in St. Paul's Church in 1884. Mr. and Mrs. Stuart have always been closely identified with the Anglican Church and for a number of years prior to their removal to Ponsonby they taught in the St. Paul's Sunday school aud then went to All 'Saints'. . Next August Mr. Stuart will have completed 59 years of teaching, while Mrs. Stuart has given 50 years of service.
