BOY'S DEATH IN BUSH
MEMBER OF TRAMPING PARTY LIFE GIVEN FOR COMPANIONS [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] NELSON. Thursday The body of the 16-year-old boy, Murray Coleman, who had been missing from a tramping party since Tuesday, was found this morn in 2 in open country. The lad had evidently tripped over a manuka stump and fallen and was unable to rise again. He had died from exposure, and it .was considered probable that death had occurred at least 21 hours before the body was found. x •
Coleman was one of a party of three bo.ys who had set out for Dun Mountain, about 14 miles from Nelson, via Aniseed Valley, 011 Tuesday. Late in the day the bo.ys decided to turn back owing to thick weather. Coleman, being the strongest walker, went ahead with the object of getting out of the bush before night and obtaining assistance for his companions if necessary. The other boys became exhausted' and decided to remain together for the night. They were rescued by a search party early yesterday morning.
