HOSPITAL AUXILIARY

MONTHLY MEETING At the monthly meeting of the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary, Mrs. T. J. G. Neill reported that Miss Theo Halpin had given a very enjoyable concert to the old people at the infirmary, also that the Onchunga branch members were mending and distributing sweets and reading matter at the infirmary as usual. Mrs. R. Hooton stated that the Mount Eden branch members had visited the hospital ' and distributed jam, books, etc. A number of cases in the district had been holped with extra nourishment, 1 and six parcels of clothes sent to deserving cases. Since November last the City Sewing Circle had sent 206 garments to the depot and 43 to St. l Helens. They regretted losing their oldest member, Mrs. Fox, through illhealth. Mrs. J. R. Whitaker stated that a parcel of garments had been sent to the Remuera School to be made up by the senior pupils, also that parcels of finished garments from Glen Eden and Te Atatu Women's Institutes had been received back. Sifter Mulcock roported having helped four tuberculosis cases during the month at a cost of approximately £2 10s for extra nourishment. She also thanked the auxiliary for their donation of £5 for extra comforts for T.B. families. The depot had distributed 368 garments and had received donations of 34 garments. Orders for food had been given to 13 ex-patients and 44 families helped with fclothing. The girls of the Ellerslie Brownie Pack had sent a donation of scrap-books they had made for children. -During the month the Victoria League had sent a donation of magazines. A donation of magazines from the Birkdale Women's Institute also had been received. Mrs. Russell, of Gillies Avenue,- had sent two pairs of headphones, which are very acceptable in the hospital.
