Hill, of Kipling Avenue, Epsom, left yesterday on a visit to Rotor ua. Miss Gwen Martyn, Cambridge, who has been visiting Auckland, returned homo yesterday. Mrs. W. J. Danby, Thames, who has been paying a brief visit to Auckland, returned home yesterday. Mrs. S. Garland, Epsom, and family returned to Auckland by the Mariposa after a trip to Vancouver. Mrs. Georgo Shera, Wharau Road, Remuera, will leave to-morrow evening to spend a holiday in Wellington. Miss Isobel Blakley, who has been visiting Suva, left Auckland by the Mariposa yesterday on her return to Victoria. Mrs. Ferrier Watson, Lower Hutt, who has been spending a holiday in Auckland, will return South to-morrow evening. Mrs. Philip Phillipps, who . has been staying with her mother, Mrs. B. N. T. Blake, of Arney Road, Remuera, has returned to Wellington. Mrs. W. Marshall, Clonbern Road, Remuera, left - last evening for Geraldine, where she will be the guest of her daughter, Mrs. Lewis. Mrs. Martin Innes, and Miss Gteeson, Wellington, Mrs. Alan Copeland, Sydney, Mrs. H. W. Heap, Arizona, and Mrs. G. H. Cook,'Los 1 *Angeles, ,are at the Grand Hotel.
Mrs. J. Cocker and the Misses L. and N. Cocker, of Masterton, who have been the guests of Mrs. E. «T. Moir, Jubilee Avenue, Devonport, will return to their home to-day.
Mrs. W. M.. Bain, Rangiriri, who has been on a visit to her mother, Mrs. E. A. Lepper, at Northcote, returned home yesterday. She . was accompanied by Miss Lily Lopper.
Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Macfarlane and the Misses Margery and Marion Macfarlane will leave by car to-morrow for Wellington, where they will attend the wedding of Mr. Neil'Macfarlane.
The Misses Van Staveran, who have just returned from a visit to Honolulu, are the guests of Mrs. R. Isaacs, Bassett Road, Remuera, before leaving for their homo in Wellington on Sunday.
At a meeting of the Devonport Women's ,Christian Temperance Union Mrs. Williams, president, dealt with the first part of the' five-fold plan for enrolling the babies.-Afternoon-tea was served.
Miss Phj'llis Stead, Melbourne, who ihas been visiting New spent a day in Auckland with, her father, Mr. Gerald Stead and Mrs. Stead, prior to leaving by the Monowai on ~ her return journey.
Mrs. Perymap and Mrs. Brewer, of Wellington, have been appointed Women's Christian Temperance Union delegates to the Pan-Pacific Conference Committee meeting, to be held on March 31 in Wellington.
Miss Nita Watson, Ayr, Scotland, who has been touring the North and South Islands, is at present the guest of Mrs. R. G. Macmorran, Remuera. The committee of tho Belmont School at entertained the members of the'staff at afternoon tea this week appreciation of . the efforts of the staff.for the snorts'held recently. Mrs. Carpenter. Nettleton, Mrs. Nilsson, Mrs. Reid, Mrs. Crabbe, Mrs. Grahame and Mrs. Smith. . /At a meeting of the Henderson branch of the Women's Christian Tem,perance Union, Mrs. Piatt presided. The Bible in Schools Committee reported that lessons were being given in the Henderson School by three ministers every Wednesday morning. Mrs. Brockenhurst gave an address on the work women have done through the ages. Afternoon tea was served by members. As a memorial to the former president, the late Mrs. Helen Gilpin, the Birkdale Women's Institute has donated a silver vase, to be known as the Helen Gilpin trophy, for annual competition at the Birkdale show. This is intended to perpetuate the memory of the valued work performed by Mrs. Gilpin for the Women's Institute and the annual show at Birkdale.
