"A COUNTRY GIRL"

Much interest is being taken in tho upproaching farewell season of the J. C. Williamson, Limited, New Comic Opera Company, which begins at His Majesty's Theatre on Saturday night next with a production of the very popular musical comedy "A Country Girl." The revival will recall the days that have passed when such popular favourites as Florence Young, Charles Kenningham, Rose Musgrove, Claude Bantock (famous for his representation of the Rajah of Bong) and George Lauri were the shining lights on tho Australian and New Zealand, stage. "A Country Girl" has something of the charm of Gilbert and Sullivan opera, and belongs to the day when musical plays savoured of genuine romance. Next Saturday's production will bo a replica of that staged in Sydney and Melbourne last year, when new and elaborate dresses and costumes and scenic effects wore constructed for a revival which proved outstandingly successful. Miss Romola Hanson, Herbert Browne, Don Nicol, Phil Smith, Eric Bush, Marie La Vnrre, Lois Green, Oliver Peacock, Charles Albert, Doris Hopkins, Stella Collier, Leslie Crane, Betty Mcßae, Moha Zeppel and David Grahamo are included in tho cast. Only six evening productions will be given, and it will be followed by "Katinka," "The Chocolate Soldier" and "The Merry Widow." The box plans will be opened on Wednesday.
