YIELDS OF COMPANIES Paddy's Point (Central Otago).—A paddock was completed on March 20 for a return of 360z., the time occupied being four weeks. Sluicing was recommenced on March 22. Mahakipawa (Marlborough).—Last week, 440z. alluvial gold.' • \ MAHAKIPAWA MANAGER Mr. F. C. Calvert has been appointed mine manager of the Mahakipawa Goldfields, Limited, Marlborough, in succession to Mr. K. M. Barranee, whose death occurred in January. Mr. . Calvert, who is manager of the Talisman Dubbo mine, Karangihake, will take up his position early next month.; He is a graduate of the Otago School of Mines and has had experience in Tasmania and Malay States. PURSEFILLER OPERATIONS The> Pursefiller Gold Mining Company, Limited, has been advised from the'mine at .Kuaotunu, Coromandel, that another reef had been cut in the eastern wall. That is the second reef that the contractors have cut within a distance of 100 ft. The reef just cut may possibly prove to be the Christmas reef, which was a good producer in the earlv days of the Kuaotunu field. NEVIS DIESEL PROGRESS Nevis Diesel Electric Dredging Company (Otago) reports that good progress is being made in opening out_an_d' widening the face toward the Nevis River and in deepening the dredga pond. Mostly old elevator tailings ara being shifted. .
