HAMILTON BOROUGH

REQUEST FROM SCHOOL OVERHEAD BRIDGE NEEDED [from our own cobbespondent] HAMILTON, Thursday A letter stressing the need for an overhead bridge across the railway line at Hinemoa or Anglesea Streets was received by the Hamilton Borough Council last evening from the Hamilton Technical High School. It was pointed out that the pupils from three schools were inconvenienced by the fact that there was no safe crossing across the line from Victoria Street to Seddon Road. The council decided to refer the matter to the Works Committee and the engineer for consideration. A recommendation by the engineer that the end of the municipal baths should be painted white to improve the visibility at night was approved. The traffic inspector submitted a report on proposed changes in the traffic regulations, which was received without comment.
