SHOE STAINING
Browri leather shoes sometimes become a bad colour while they are otherwise still in good condition. It may he easier to stain them black than to restore them to their original shade of brown. Satisfactory results may be obtained bv using a good brand of liquid grate polish as a black stain. The shoes should be well coated with the polish, which must be thoroughly worked into all the seams and round the welts. A second coating may be applied, if necessary. When the shoes are dry, they should be brushed with ordinary black shoe polish. This method of staining is economical when children's shoes have to be blackened to wear with a school uniform..
