MINER ADMITS THEFT A plea of guilty was* entered by a miner, Hugh Victor King, aged 59, who was charged before Mr. AY. R. McKean, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday, with stealing five shirts valued at £l, the property of the Waitemata Trading Company, on Monday. Chief-Detective Sweeney said accused was seen making off with the articles, which wore taken from the front of the shop. He was overtaken by an assistant, and admitted the oifence. He was considerably under the influence of liquor at the time. A sentence of a month's imprisonment waii imposed. Appearing on remand, Hugh .Jones, seaman,, aged 53, was charged with using obscene language in Quay Street on March 12.
