WILL NOT RESIGN

COLLEGE COUNCIL MEMBERS GRADUATES' REQUEST REFUSED [by teljP.graph—press association] WELLINGTON. Tuesday The terms of a letter signed by Mr. Justice Ostler, Mr. P. Levi, Mr. A. Fair and Mr. S. Eichelbaum, and addressed to the clerk of the Court of Convocation of Victoria University College, indicate clearly that they, as representatives of the graduates on the college council, do not intend to comply with the resolution declared carried at a meeting of the Court of Convocation recently. The resolution requested that they should retire and offer themselves, as might be desired, for re-election. The signatories of the letter point out that they were elected by the graduates at elections in which the whole electors had the opportunity of voting. When their present term of office expired, the electors would again have an opportunity of expressing confidence or otherwise in tliem if they elected to stand.
