WEEK-END ATTRACTIONS
CRICKET TO RESUME OUTBOARD RACING BEGINS A wide variety of sporting fixtures will take place in Auckland to-day. The Auckland Cricket Association's competitions will be resumed at Eden Park, where the principal match will be that between Grafton and Eden on No. 1 wicket, while the Suburban Association's games will be continued at the Domain. The Richmond Cruising Club will hold a general handicap race to Riverhead, commencing at 2.45 p.m. The annual regatta of the Takapuna Boating Club will take place this afternoon, the events to include a race for sailing dinghies. The Auckland Outboard Racing' Club's first fixture of the season will be held at the Panmure Basin. Programmes have been arranged by the various rowing clubs. The Oneroa Beach summer carnival will be continued throughout the week-end. The lower grade competitions under the control of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association will be advanced a further stage to-day, and club and inter-club bowling matches will be played. An athletic carnival will be held at Carlaw Park by the Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club, while a points meeting will take plaoo. at New Lynn under the auspices of the Lynndale Club.
