Island croquet, championship , tournament" was reached tb-day in the Government grounds. The weather was fine .and much interest was- taken in the finals. At the conclusion of play, F. L. Hartnell,* president of the New Zealand Croauet Council., presented prizes to the successful competitors. He remarked upon the excellence of'the lawns during tho tournaments Results of the day's play were:— Open Championship Doubles:—Final': Gibbs . and Mrs._ Lowe beat, Kibblewhite and Hawk'en-,' 26—20. -<• Open Championship Singles'.—Final {best of three games)': Mrs. Kibblewhite beat Gibbs, 26—G, 21—26, 2C—lB. 0>
