EXPORT OF RAMS
Mr. W. Raynor, of The Cliffs, Masterton is sending a second shipment of 20 rams to the Argentine. A previous consignment left in June and 19 rams realised 10,000 Argentine dollars at auction. The second transportation, arranged by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, left by the s.s. Pakeha from Napier on December 15. The sheep will be auctioned at Buenos Aires in February. They comprise 15 Lincolns, three Romneys and two Corriedales The value which is placed on New Zealand-bred sheep in the Argentine is Bhown by the results of last sale. The best bid for an English-bred Lincoln was £4O, while the top Lincoln of Mr. Rayner's consignment realised £9l. The average for English-type Romneys was under £2O, while Mr. Rayner's Romneys averaged £B9. Mr. Rayner's Cprriedales also/ averaged i&58»
