M. McCARTEN'S GOOD DAY FOUR WINNING MOUNTS NEW ZEALAND TWO-YEAR-OLDS QUEEN HELEN AND CAVALCADE (Received November 12. 5.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Nov. 12 Tho outstanding feature of tho final day of the Victoria Racing Club's meeting nt Flemington yesterday was tho performance of tho ex-New Zealand horseman M. MeCarten, who rodo four of tho six winners. This feat is without parallel at Flemington ainco the days of tho noted rider Tom Ilales, who rodo four winners in one afternoon in March, 1888. McCarlen won on Blixten, Cavalcade, Oro and Queen Helen, while ho was also socond on Turbine and third on Ivuvera. T.ho New Zealand owner Mr. W. R. Kemball won the Ottawa Stakes with Queon Helen, while Cavalcude. who was sold by him on Friday to Mr. R. Soywoll, of Sydney, scored a comfortablo win in tho Flemington Stakes. Queen Helen finished brilliantly in her race. At the Trentham .sales lust January Mr. Kemball bought Queen Helen for 55 guineas and Cavalcade for 325 guineas. Tho New Zenland-bj-ed colt Blixten, after being last early, finished in great style to win the Batman Stakes from the New Zealand filly Golden Hair. Blixten is trained by Cr. Price and gavo McCarten his fourth Batman Stakes victory. Rogilla led over tho last six furlongs to record a comfortable win in the C. B. Fisher l'late. He lias now scored three wins j in liis last four starts. Gaine Cnrrington | was second. 11l the V.R.C. Hand.cap, Oro took command five furlongs from homo and withstood a challenge from the New Zealancicr Greenhorn to win by three-quarters of a length. Both Rogilla and Oro were, bred by Mr. Hunter White, who still owns Oro. Both aro by Roger do Busli. Malldale, a stablemato of Ulixten, finished fast to win tho Final Handicap. His | owner, Mr. .T. S. Brunton, won earlier in the meeting with Quarto and Mananna.
