MAGICIAN'S SEASON

After an absence from the Dominion of 21 years, Dante, the world-renowned Danish magician, will commence his Auckland season with a matineo at His Majesty's Theatre on Saturday. With a company of talented overseas artists he presents a dazzling revue, "Sim-Sala-Bim," in which mysticism and humour are intermingled. One of his most spectacular illusions is the Chinese water trick, in which over 1000 gallons of water appear to spout from the heads and hands of his assistants. Dante seemingly creates whole flocks of ducks, makes cards hover in the air and performs evolutions over the orchestra, makes a woman rise into the air under a sheet and cea.se to exist after the sheet has been pulled away, and actually changes places with an assistant on the stage without the audience being aware of it. Booking arrangements are advertised.
