COMMENTS ON RUNNING KIMBO'S HURDLES WIN NOT SENT AS ACCEPTOR [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] OTAKI, Saturday Kimbo, who was not telegraphed as an acceptor in the hurdles, repeated the history connected with such cases and won. The favourite. High Society, and Revision made the pace, but Kimbo took charge over the business stages and had no difficulty in beating Revision, with High Society a poor third. Revision jumped much better than on the first day and but for a blunder two fences from homo would have been hard. High Society was disappointing. The Trial Plate saw a very close finish between the favourites, Etiquette and Prostration. They drew No. 1 and No. 2 respectively, but started from each other'B places. They were in front from the start and then Prostration dropped in behind Arctic Region, and Hunting Lodge was also prominent. Prostration challenged hotly in the hun home, but Etiquetto just hung on to beat him by a head, Hunting Lodge was a poor third, just beating Arctic Region. Tbo improving Prostration cave supporters of the favourite a great fright. Epigram, a hot favourite for the hack seven, ran a good race, but was decisively defeated by an improver, Bonnie Vale. Bettwsycoed, Pegged Exchange and Bonnie Vale led Epigram into line, when Epigram threw out a detetmined challenge. Bonnie Vale, however, was just as determined and held him off decisively, although with nothing in hand. Wasteland was a good third, with Bettwsycoed fourth. Although clefeated, Epigram was not disgraced, as he gave the winner two years and a stone and in addition he received a check in the running. Ho finished resolutely under pressure. Plateau scored another all-the-way win in the principal handicap. Saltpot went with him to the straight from Takakva and Gold Trail, with Brambletorn handy and Retract tailing off. In the straight Plateau drew out, challenged by Takakua, and he held on to win decisively. Brambletorn was a poor third, just beating Saltpot, with Gold Trail next. Plateau is plainly on tho upgrade. Takakua runs iust well enough to get second, but his turn should come. Brambletorn did not improve,, nor did Gold Trail. . , , , Acceptable led all the way in the hack sprint, Haulb >wline, always second to him in the running, challenged in the straight, but Acceptable held him nicely. Acrelict was a long way back third. Acceptable showed considerable improvement. Navaho beat his two opponents in the open sprint, with ease. Sir Ponibal got a fly out of the barrier, but the other pair ran past him after going a couple of furlongs. Once in the straight Navaho came on and won without an extra call being necessary. Sir Pombal finished on again for second from Arrow Lad. Hazoor, at a good price, won the back mile in a very close finish. The betting suggested an improved showing from Tranquility, nnd he was always handy. In a battling finish between four horses Hazoor. on the outer, wore down Tranquility, with Royal Dash and Whetuma right up. Both the winner and runner-up _ improved. Whetuma looked very unlucky in the run home, being badly hampered for room. The meeting concluded with another surprise win by Atholspear, Esteem. Lady Spy and Equitant led into tho straight, with Atholspear moving up. Esteem mado a big bid and wa,3 in front with lialf-a-furlong to go, but Equitant wore him down, only to go under herself to a determined run by Atholspear, with Lady Spy n'glit up fourth and La Poupee next. The track was softening by the time this race was run. and it 'suited tho winner. Equitant, Esteem and Lady Spy ran good rr.ees. Esteem is improving. La Poupee did not improve and the atmospheric conditions were all against Aston.
