WHANGAREI CRUISING CLUB [FROM Of It OWN CO HR KS ['ON D F.N T ] WHAKGAIiKI, Saturday There was a good attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Whangarei Cruisinft Club last evening. Tho annual report stated that the finances of the club were not in as liealthy a condition as in previous years, owing chiefly to the depression. The subscriptions were considerably less than those of previous years. Tho racing for last season showed a falling off. the exception being the ocean race, for which good entries were received. There were no launch races. A credit balance of i'O wns shown, and £'l3 was outstanding in subscriptions lor the past two years. The following officers were elected for the new reason: —Patron, Mr. \ W. Jones: vice-patrons, Messrs. F. Johnson, C. Jones and J. A. Finlayson; commodore. Mr. F. Tercel; vice-commodore. Mr. ,T; Reynolds; rear-commodore, Mr. K. Heed; committee, Metsrs. A. Carmichnei. S. Bell, I!. Cutforth, B. Finch, W. Parkes, Jj. K. Ford. C. Moore; club captain, Mr. AV. Parkes; secretary, Mr. V Bnrrison; treasurer, Mr. K. Civil; assistant secretary, Mr. W. Beynolds. imi.; auditors, Messrs. A. Wilkinson and I). Smedley. It was decided to reduce the subscription rates, and to hold the official opening in November. The Mayor, Mr. Vf. Jones, in presenting the trophies won during the season, congratulated Ihe club on the way in which it had come through a difficult year.
