INTERESTS AT TAURANGA [j'ROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] TAURANGA, Saturday The following resolution was passed at a meeting of the Quarterly Board of the Methodist Church at Taurangai —"That this meeting riot only emphatically protests against any increase in the facilities for gambling by the use of tlio telegraph ofiico or any other means, but requests tlio Government, in the interests of the people, earnestly to consider the curtailment, by drastic taxation and other means, of the- present demoralising influence of this vice." At the same meeting, on behalf of the Methodist people, Mr. F. N. Christian extended to tho Rev. C. It. Taylor an invitation to stay a fourth term, and in doing so oulogised Mr. Taylor's* services in every department of church work. Other speakers endorsed Mr. Christian's appreciation, and a unanimous invitation was given bv ballot. ' 1
