DOMINION BOXERS
RECENT TEST BOUTS SUCCESSES IN BRISBANE BRISBANE, Ocl. a Speaking at an informal gathering after the boxing tests between Australian and New Zealand representatives, Mr. G. Bush, the New Zealand manager, spoke confidently of a visit to the Dominion next year by an Australian team. Sir. McCluskey, the Australian secretary, replied hopefully. Although Sir. Bush was elated over the success of the Dominion in the test bouts, he said he regretted that through illness and injury Williams, R. : Purdy and McKay had not done better, but he thought the Dominion boxers had done exceptionally well, in view of their handicap, to capture two titles—W. Purdy (welter-weight), and W. Hawes (feather-weight). Others to receive trophies were:—• Neale, Lindesay, McKay and R. Purdy. The team left this morning for New. Zealand via Sydney.
