PLATEAU IN OPEN COMPANY GOOD VICTORY AT OTAKI Tlie performance of Plateau in winning the Ling Memorial Handicap ot Otaki yeateiday was good for a horse who was haying his first race over ft middle distance in open company. Plateau is a fine stamp of gelding by Acre from Moorefield, hence a full-brother to the well-performed Crown Area, and now that he has proved that he is capable of bridging the gap t between hack and open company he should go on to further success. His record this season is a fourth and two wins in three starts, and his effort yesterday was his best to date. LAST LINK IN FORM Last Link, who notched a win and a second at Wingatui on Thursday, belongs to a family that lias produced some smart gallopers.
