WEDDING
SMITH—LOCKIE A pretty wedding was celebrated in All Saints' Church, Ponsonby, on Thursday evening, when Miss Lockie, only daughter of Mrs. and the late Captain A. Lockie. of Ponsonby, was married to Mr. Alban G. Smith, only son of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Smith, also of Ponsonby. The ceremony, which was fully choral, was performed by the Hev. W. Averill, and the bride, who was escorted by her brother, Mr. Alan Lockie, was met at the church door by the choir, who preceded her up the aisle. Her frock of white satin was cut on simple, close-fitting lines and her veil of Brussels net was caught to the back of the head with a spray of orange blossoms. She carried a sheaf of white flowers. In attendance were Miss Dora Coppins and Miss Molly Smith, who wore frocks of apricot frilled organdie and organdie hats to match. They carried bouquets of spring flowers to tone. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Alan Hill and Mr. Malcolm Byrnes. While the register was being signed the anthem " Peace Be Within Thy Walls " was sung by the choir. A reception followed, held at the Domain Kiosk, where the guests were received by the bride's mother, who wore a frock of wine marocain and hat to match. The bridegroom's mother was in black georgette with pink relief and black hat. The guests included the Rev. and Mrs. W. Averill, Mr. and Mrs. Coppins, Mrs. Pearson, Mrs. Reiinan, Mrs. G. C. Ashley, Mr. D. Ashley, Mr. and Mrs. C. Ashley, Mrs. J. Knights, Mr. T. Knights (Hamilton), Mrs. G. Ashforth, Miss Cleo Melville, Mrs. L. Curtin, Miss A. Wright and Miss L. Rushbrooke.
