OTAHUHU REUNION

The seating capacity of the ball was taxed to overflowing. Special tables were laid for tho accommodation of many of the old district residents, who were welcomed individually by the vicar, the Rev. R. J. Stanton, on bohalf of the gathering. In his remarks Mr. Stanton referred to the part played by their guests in the early days of settlement in the district, and quoted from press references of 50 years ago. resort of Otahuhu. "One wonders what is the prevailing view to-day," he added amid laughter. After tea had been served by a committee of ladies an excellent programme was presented. Songs were sung by Mrs. Albert Russell, Mrs. Fearnley and Mrs. King; violin solos were played by Miss Arlington and recitations gjven by Miss L. Roseveare.
