FUSION PROGRESS UNITY OF OPPOSITION O'DUFFY AS LEADER ENDING ECONOMIC WAR PEACE WITH ENGLAND By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received August 23. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 23 General O'DufFy, leader of the National Guard, has returned to Dublin in connection with the movement toward the federation of nil opposition parties under his leadership. Tho correspondent of tho Daily Telegraph learns definitely that all obstacles to fusion have now been removed, but official announcements aro not expected for a while. .
The Cosgravo Party will lose its distinctive but clumsy Irish title and join forces with the Centre Party and the National Guard under tho title of the National Party. All will accept General O'Duffy's leadership.
Jb is expected that tho Independents and others 'will also join, thus presenting a united front, the great aim being to secure reconciliation with England before the havoc of economic war is irretrievable.
