UNIMPROVED SECTIONS •/ ' ; LITTLE INTEREST TAKEN Five blocks of land in the Cambridge, Otorohanga, Te Kuiti, Rotorua and To ' Puke districts were offered by ballot by the South Auckland Lands Board The land is practically unimproved in all cases and very little interest was taken in the ballot.' Thero were only 10 applicants for three, sections, while for a block near Te Kuiti and another block near Mamaku there were no Applicants. • For a block of 178 acres about 12 » miles from Cambridge, with a capital value of £360 and a half-yearly rental of £9, together with a dwelling valued at £3OO, to be paid for by cash or instalment, thero were six applicants. The successful applicant was Mr. H. H. ' ■ Keyte, of Cambridge. Thero were three applicants for a block of 134 acres, nine miles from Otorohanga. This had a capital value of £476 and a half-yearly rental of £ll 18s, and the successful applicant was Mr. G. S. "VVhibley, of Otorohanga. There was only one applicant for a ' block of 1370 acres, 10 miles from Te « Puke. The capital value was £455 and the half-yearly rental £9 2s. In this case the board decided to make no allotment.
