CARGO VESSELS
TWO NEW MOTOR-SHIPS ACCOMMODATION FOR CADETS [by telegraph OWN correspondent] "WELLINGTON. Wednesday Details of the two refrigerated cargo motor-ships which were recently, ordered by the New Zealand Shipping Company have come to hand. The vessels are to be constructed by Workman-Clark .(1928), Limited, Belfast, and each will be 513 ft. in length overall. Their extreme beam will be 68ft. 4in. and they will have a depth from the upper deck of 47ft. Gin. Including their refrigerating machinery and insulation, the ships will have » deadweight capacity of 15,000 tons. Their refrigerated cargo space wi/l total over 500,000 cubic feet. Each vessel will have accommodation aft for 40 cadets, and their complements will be housed amidships. Tho Diesel engines will give a trial speed of over 16 knots. ADDITIONAL INSULATION WORK ON'THREE STEAMERS [by telegraph—press association] WELLINGTON, Wednesday The Shaw, Sayill and Albion Com? pany has placed an order with Swan, Hunter and Wigliam Richardson, Limited, Wallsend, fpr additional insulation of three of their steamers, the Mahia (7914 tons), Tairoa (7983 tons) and Matakana (8040 tons). Work on each of these vessels is expected to occupy about two months*
