NUMBER OF SENIOR TEAMS EFFORT TO SECURE REDUCTION Notice of motion, that tho number of teams in the senior grade A competition bo reduced in the 1934 season from 10 teams to eight, was given by Mr. R. B. Hardy at a meeting of the management committeo of the Aucklund Rugby Union last evening. A letter was received from the manager of tho New Plymouth Boys' High School team, expressing appreciation of the hospitality extended to tho school team and masters during their visit to Auckland. The Manukau Rovers' Club was granted permission to travel to Pukekohe on Saturday. The Parnell Club was granted leave to travel to Thames on Saturday, on tho understanding that it loses its senior grade B match against Eden by default. The applications for reinstatement of A. J. Johnston i tid P./ Or. T. Donovan were recommended to the New Zealand Union for favourable consideration. The regradis £ of O. McAdam, of the Technical Old Boys' Club, from senior grade to first junior was approved. The following ground officials were appointed:—Avondale, Mr. N. Robertson; Domain, Messrs. J. Hoare and E.
