A request to be. placed on tho list for a revaluation of property, under the Urban Farm Lands Rating Act. ]<J;!2, on tho grounds that tho present valuation was excessive, was received from a ratepayer. Tho recommendation of tho that .the council' should not prepare such a list at the present juncture was adopted. One of tho reasons given by the clerk was that it was extremely doubtful if any land in the borough came within the definition in the Act of urban farm lands. The building inspector reported that permits involving £605 had been issued for tho period from July 27 to August--17. Since the beginning of the year 61 permits had been issued, valued at £10,034.
