In tho second column is given tho return, based on the last annual dividend, from investment at tho quoted price. In calculating tho return on shares in companies which pay their dividends outside New Zealand the exchange rates havo not been taken into consideration. The return on 4 per cent Government loans includes ledemption. In tho case of per cent loans tho return is for interest alone, and covers only the period for which tho loans are tax-froo. No return is given on local body securities and debentures in tho meantime.
