PROFITABLE INDUSTRY
When asked by Mr. R. A. Young in tho Supreme Court in Christchurch how many abandoned bicycles found their way into the hands of tho police every year, Constable E. A. Dunn was unable to give the number. " Would it bo hundreds or thousands?" asked Mr. Young. " Not thousands; probably hundreds," was the reply. Later Mr. Justice MacGregor remarked that stealing bicycles in Christchurch was probably quite a profitable industry.
