WEATHER MAINLY FAIR RAIN DEVELOPING IN SOUTH The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows:—Yesterday's depression passed rapidly eastward and has been followed by a slight rise oil pressure. A fresh westerly de- .t - pressicn, however, is now advancing from Tasmania. Indications are for • winds becoming north-west to north generally and freshening, gales being likely later about and south of Cook Strait. Seas rather rough and increasing oil the West Coast; elsewhere moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Freshening north-westerly winds and moderate but rising seas,, Weather fair almost generally at first, but conditions again becoming unsettled to-morrow in districts with a westerly aspect from Taranaki southward, with rain developing. Temperatures moderate. YESTERDAY'S WEATHER Auckland. —Except for light showers experienced early yesterday morning, line weather prevailed during the day, the wind being a light westerly. The barometer was rising and registered 30.00 m.'last evening. Duiiiedin. —A light south-west breeze and fine sunny weather prevailed yesterday.
