PUBLIC BEQUEST OF £5009 MONEY FOR SCIENCE [by telegraph—own correspondent] DUNEDIN, Tuesday Although Sir Thomas Sidey, whos® death occurred on Mny 20, mat's a. great many benefactions to philanthropic and educational objects during; his lifetime, there is provision in his will, which has been entered for probate purposes at under £'lo,ooo. for a bequest of £SOOO to the New Zealand Institute. This bequest is, however, subject to certain conditions of rather restrictive character. It should be understood that the value of the estate for probate purposes ;s exc|usire of valuable interests, in the Sidey Trust Account, which controls several extensive business properties in Dunedin. It is understood that Sir Ihomas made a disposition ot a. large proportion- of his estate during, his lifetime.
