POST OFFICE THEFT

ANOTHER SUSPECT CHARGED A fisherman, Douglas Aubrey Sadgrove, aged 22, who was arrested by Detective Hayes on Monday, appeared ■before Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday on a charge of breaking and entering, by night, the Ruakaka post office, and stealing a safe, a cashbox, a fountain pen and a sum of money, of a total value of £IOO, the property of the Government. The ■alleged offenco was stated by the polipe to have been committed on May 24. On the application of Detective-Ser-geant McHugh accused was remanded to appear at Whangarei to-morrow. Another man was last week taken into custody and similarly charged. He also will appear at Whangarei tomorrow.
