EVANGELICAL CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENT OF CREED "FIGHT FOR GERMANISM" OLD TESTAMENT BARRED By lelegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received April 7. 5.25 p.m.) BERLIN, April C The Nazis propose to create a new evangelical church and to demand adherence to the following creed:— " God made me German. Germanism is the gift of God. God wishes that I should fight for my Germanism. Military service is never a violation of Christianity, but is obedient to the will of God." The tenets of the new creed include one that all Protestants who marry members of an alien race shall be expelled from the Church. Pastor Wieneke, one of the promoters, says:—" Wero Christ to reappear on earth He Mould bo the leader of a war on Marxism and internationalism." The abolition of the Old Testament is demanded and the substitution of German sagas and legends in order to replace tho Hebrew prophets by personages in Gorman philosophy and art and so ensure uniformity with the national revolution. This demand has been brought to Herr Hitler's notice by the supreme council of tho Church with a reminder that ho guaranteed tho Church's independence. POLES IN GERMANY TREATMENT RESENTED SHARP WORDS IN WARSAW t (Received April 7, 8.55 p.m.) WARSAW. April 7 The German Minister to Poland called at the Foreign Oflico in Warsaw to-day and presented a Note protesting against attacks upon Herr Hitler in the Polish press. It is learned that tho tone of the conversation was sharp and that the subject of the treatment of Polish nationals in Germany was raised. REGULATING THE PRESS RELATIONS WITH STATE CRITICISM FROWNED UPON (Received April 7, 7.45 p.m.) BERLIN. April 6 In announcing that a new press law is to bo promulgated shortly Herr Goebbels, Minister of Propaganda, at the annual reception to the German press said it would regulate the new relationship between the press and the State and define the professional standing and prerogatives of journalists. The Chancellor, Herr Hitler, declared that the highest duty of the press at present was not criticism but- tho creation of unity of thought and will. ANOTHER OUTRAGE KIDNAPPERS' VICTIMS SWIFT TRAGEDY FOLLOWS (Received April 7. 10.5 p.m.) EERLIN. April 0 Another outrage has been perpetrated against German Jews outside German territory, namely, at Gaslei, in Liehtenstein. Two brothers, Alfred and Fritz Potter, formerly leading theatre managers in Berlin, were walking with Alfred's wife and Frau ■when seven young gunmen stopped them and tried to drag them to a waiting motorcar. Alfred Rotter and the women struggled free and jumped down a ravine in" an effort to escape. Irau Wolf was found injured and the other two dead. In tho meantime the kidnappers secured Fritz Rotter and drove furiously toward the Austrian Tyrol. At Triesenberg the captive leaped from the car and fractured his skull. Police stopped the car in the Tyrol and arrested the occupants, who were imprisoned at Feldkirch. The Government of Lichtenstein has demanded that Austria shall extradite the assailants of tho party. They are mostly students under 30. They were found in possession of a poison syringe, seven phials of chloroform and gas pistols. They declare they used no revolvers but made a tear gas attack from patriotic motives, hoping to get tho party on to Austrian sod to facilitate their extradition to Germany. If they had succeeded, they say, they would have received a reward of £3300. THEATRICAL PRODUCER MOVE FROM DANGER ZONE (Received April 7, 10.5 p.m.) VIENNA. April 7 " Life near the border is dangerous," says Herr Max Reinhardt, famous Jewish theatrical producer. He has decided to lcavo his castle at SalzJjurg and live in Vienna. HEBREW REFUGEES THOUSANDS FLEEING LONDON. April fi A message from Basle, Switzerland, states that '3OOO Jews have arrived there from Germany in the past few days. Tho majority were prosperous business people, who told stories of persecution. Many proceeded to Franco. At Amsterdam 1500 Jews arrived from Germany yesterday. Many of them were on foot, not having been able to pav their railway fares.
