WAIKATO WINTER SHOW

Friday Much interesting information concorning Hamilton is contained in tho Call, tho official organ of the Waikato Winter Show Association, which has just boon issued, the publication is in magazine form, and is well illustrated with photographs of scenes at the soldiers' memorial park, the lake reserve and the Port Waikato children's camp. To assist exhibitors there is a, schedule of tho various classes and a synopsis of tho rules and regulations of the association. • In a message to exhibitors the secretary, Mr. W. H. 'Paul, .says: "The Waikato Winter Show is a National event proclaiming the fertility of the land, the development on scientific lines qf the great dairying industry, and the organising genius of a body of Waikato people who, in the comparatively short period of 26 years, have built up a dairy exhibition that ranks with the ,most important- < f its kind in the world. The total i inber of entries in the dairy produce .' lasses exceeds the record of the Londor. Dairy Show."

A comprehensive range of competitions is offered, including agricultural and horticultural sections, as well as classes in knitting, crocheting, needlework, bakery and dairy produce. There are also competitions in elocution, singing, dancing, instrumental items, arts and crafts, model engineering, photography, etc. Year by year tho industrial side of the exhibition has been steadily expanding Applications received so far for the next show indicate that the interest of manufacturers and merchants i.-j stronger than ever. The value of the exhibition to the engineering trade has been considerably increased by 'additional classes for engineers' models and model aeroplanes.
