HOLD-UP IN HOUSE

INTRUDERS WITH GUNS Three gunmen forced their way into a house in Gresham Gardens, Golders Green, one night recently and robbed the occupants at the point of revolvers. Mr. I. Kaufman, who was in the house with his sister, Mrs. Rosin, and two other women, said: "About ten o'clock there was a knock at the door. I opened the door. As I did so a man put a revolver up to my face and said 'Stick up your hands.' Another man was standing behind him, also holding a gun. "They made me walk back into the drawing room and called out to the ladies 'Fork over all you have.' We began to rummage about in our pockets for money, and then a third man, who was not armed, came into the room and

began to search us. I took 30s out of my pocket and gave it to the. men and the ladies also handed over all they had. The total was about £5. "Then the two men stood over us with their revolvers while the other one went into some of the front rooms, apparently to search for money. The men then left without attempting to take away any of the silver, and as they passed through the lounge one of the men cut the telephone wire." The raiders are described as wellspoken and respectably dressed. Two, who were of about middle age, were wearing dark overcoats and trilby hats. The third, a youth of about 18, had a bright check cap. - • • : -
