MANGERE
DEBATING SOCIETY The third annual general meeting of the Mangere Literary, Social and Debating Society was held on Monday, evening. Mr. B. Bullen, president of the society, presided. The report and bal-ance-sheet were read by Mr. R. Monteath, past secretary, the latter showing a small profit. The following were the officers elected for the ensuing year:— President, Mr. B. Bullen; vice-presi-dent, Mr. R. Monteath; secretary and treasurer, Messrs. R. Burns and L. Jones; committee, Mr. B. Ellison, Miss Reynolds, Miss Dickenson, Miss G. Newson and Miss B. Newson; patron, Mr. W. W. Massev, M.P. ; vice-patrons, Messrs. D. Kay, J. Paine, J. Clarke and S. Richards.
